John Hamby is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of transaction and investment expertise, boasting a remarkable deal volume surpassing $1 billion. His journey encompasses diverse experiences, from excelling in commercial real estate brokerage and syndication since 2006 to navigating the complexities of commercial service business M&A.

John’s notable roles include serving as the former Co-Managing Partner of Fortis Legacy Partners, a multifamily office where he made significant contributions from 2018 to 2021. 

From 2010 to 2022, John earned a reputation as a skilled Angel investor. He’s well-regarded for his ability to negotiate effectively, working with various private and public companies and regional and federal government agencies. Notably, he holds a license as a California real estate broker, further underscoring his commitment to excellence in the industry.

Beyond the boardroom, John actively engages in community initiatives. He serves as an Executive Committee Member for the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego, showcasing his dedication to fostering real estate education. 

Additionally, he takes on the role of Committee Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Downtown YMCA of San Diego, demonstrating his leadership in community-focused organizations. John is also a compassionate volunteer, supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and participating in Project Mercy, a home-building outreach benefiting impoverished families in Mexico.
