Dana Robinson [00:00:03]:
I’m Dana Robinson, and this is the Exit Plan podcast. In this podcast, I interview my network of business operators, entrepreneurs, and experts who share their wisdom about growing businesses and how they got their exit. Let me take you through a brief overview of what I’ve learned from interviewing successful entrepreneurs and what you’ll learn by listening to the exit plan podcast. First, big ideas don’t typically win. They do cost a lot of money and take a ton of risk. Your best path to success as a business owner is to lean into what you already know. That often means that business success grows out of a job and the skills that you take away from your job. In the Exit Plan podcast, you’ll learn how to navigate this path forward with the least amount of risk and the most amount of upside for your potential business success.
Dana Robinson [00:01:00]:
Shameless self promotion. I also wrote a book on the subject called the King’s Fly Swatter. Second, once you own a business, there’s a lot of potential ways for that business to fail and a few solid keys to successfully optimizing your business. Those keys to success can be hard learned, or they can come easy to find. The easy button you need to be open to learning from others who have been where you are, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. You do that by listening and learning from podcasts like this, and also from finding the right best practice groups, professional and trade organizations, trade shows, networking events, and collaboration, which I’ll share with you. Third, once you optimize your business, it’s smart to plan for your eventual sale. You want to have an exit plan, an approach to your business that makes it ready to sell for the best possible price at any given time.
Dana Robinson [00:02:01]:
What if you currently don’t intend to sell your business? It’s still imperative that you be ready for an eventual sale, even if you’re not interested in selling right now. This way, you receive the benefit of a business that’s running smoothly and growing in success and producing profit. I hope you enjoy the exit Plan podcast interviews and please stay in touch.
