Tanner Smith landed in Bali on a whim. As a young traveler, he lived on pennies, literally paying 50 cents for a meal. He ended up teaching English at a school before he eventually figure out how to “opt out” of a day job altogether and live the ultimate expat life. He owns and runs the Bali Manual, an online guide for expat life in Bali. He also has a gig that lets him travel the world taking photos for international hotels. We’re on location with Tanner, poolside at a villa in Canggu, sipping negroni’s and talking about Tanner’s opt out journey, saving monkeys and living the expat life.
